Introduction to RISAS

The Railway Industry Supplier Approval Scheme (RISAS) is owned by the whole GB main line rail sector and is used to assess and certify suppliers of critical products and services.

RISAS supports Network Rail, the train operators and all “client” organisations in their management of supply chain risk by providing an independent and rigorous assessment of a supplier’s capability.

The Vision:

"RISAS will be universally recognised as the GB rail industry's most effective and efficient method of assuring critical supply chains."

The Mission statement:

RISAS is integral to the GB rail sector risk management regime and provides robust assurance to procurers of critical products, thus delivering effective risk control in an efficient manner.
